We welcome contributions from researchers, scholars, and writers working in English, Russian, or French. Submissions are open year-round.

We publish work that fits our focus: rare museums, cabinets of curiosities, olfactory history, museology, and related fields.

 

All submissions are reviewed by our editorial team. We reserve the right to decline without detailed feedback.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA

Academic Rigor: Long-form scholarly essays, theoretical texts, abstracts, or excerpts/adapted chapters from larger research projects.

Publication Status: Previously published work, revised papers, or works-in-progress are welcome, provided the author holds the rights.

Contemporary Art responding to archival & proto-museum tropes

Medical Heritage: Historical Apothecaries & Anatomical Museums

Olfactory Heritage, Olfactory History & Sensory Museology

Marginalia, Obscure Objects & Alternative Epistemologies

Review & Benefits: Free to submit. Selected submissions are reviewed quarterly; finalists receive free editorial polish and translation.

Format: 1,000–5,000 words (English, French, or Russian).

Visuals: 3–5 high-resolution images with proper source credits and copyright clearance.

Citation Style: Adherence to the Chicago Manual of Style.

Materiality: Innovation in the use of raw materials or scent-based media.

Technical Portfolio: High-resolution documentation of previous works (max 5 MB).

Exhibition Potential: Feasibility of the project for physical or digital archives.
